Assistant Apprentice

This is a part-time opportunity ideal for a student currently enrolled in and finishing a hairstylist program. You must have a passion for a continued education and be prepared for a one-on-one intensive and experience learning from and working with a specialist in blonding, cutting, bridal styling, and personal business development.

Job type: Part-time; up to 20 hours per week; flexibility to work Ania’s schedule which includes days, evenings and weekends;

Studio location: 170 North Queen St. Unit K, Suite #6, Etobicoke ON M9C 1A8

The ideal individual must:

  • View punctuality as a necessary tool for success within their trade.  

  • Have a strong eagerness to learn and take initiative.

  • Take pride in their ability to pay attention to detail.

  • Be committed to staying in the know of current fashion trends within the hairstyling industry.

The successful apprentice is required to:

  • Have graduated from or be in their final semester of a hairstyling program.

  • Become a member of the Ontario College of Trades and apprentices must remain active members for the duration of their apprenticeship.

  • Be responsible for keeping track of apprenticeship hours and getting sign off.

  • Have access to a vehicle or have the ability to get to and from bridal clients’ venues and locations throughout eastern Ontario.

  • Be available outside of salon hours to come in for one-on-one for training.

On the job requirements:

  • Assist Ania in all her in-studio tasks and services.

  • Sweeping, shampooing, client care.

  • Assist Ania with off-site bridal bookings.

Completing a curriculum that consists of but not limited to:

  • Hair cutting: razor, precision, short, medium, long haircuts.

  • Blonding services: foiling techniques, balayage tech, on scalp lightening/ global bleach applications.

  • Product knowledge.

  • Colour theory and selection.

  • Personal business development: successful consulting and selling; building your brand; goal setting.

  • Styling: bridal, blow drying, heat styling and editorial.
